Reiki Retreat in Mexico

The Reiki retreat is open to home or professional Reiki practitioners from all lineages. Come refresh yourself and deepen your practice in six heavenly days, seven stunning sunsets, with all homemade meals and ample downtime at an eco boutique hotel in Mexico!

Are world events making you anxious? Or maybe you have a health concern, or you’re facing an important decision. You might want to get more from your Reiki practice. Or your life.

In our 6-day, 7-night retreat — February 10-17 — you’ll immerse yourself in Reiki practice, rest, self-inquiry and supportive community, and find the steady contentment that lies within you.

You’ll gently transform unhealthy attitudes and open your heart to yourself, and to others.

You’ll leave your retreat feeling seen, heard, respected and loved — by yourself, and those around you — and feeling empowered to step into your future. And nourished by delicious food prepared daily for our retreat, according to your dietary needs!

If you are a Reiki professional, we’ll explore how to share what you’ve gotten with your clients and students.

I tweak the program to serve all who participate. Everyone — home practitioner or Reiki professional — becomes a co-creator of our retreat to ensure your priorities are addressed.

Recently published research shows a wellness week brings immediate benefits that last at least six weeks. Our retreat is even more powerful because not only will you find profound rest, you’ll have hours of transformative practice and discussion each day, including table treatment while you watch the sun set over the valley.

Join us to learn practices to create happiness and health for life!

Sagrada means “sacred” and that’s what you’ll experience in this spectacular retreat site in the foothills outside San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage city.

San Miguel is consistently ranked among the top five cities to visit in Mexico, Central and South America by Travel & Leisure magazine. San Miguel is cultured, charming, and safe (including for women traveling alone). The city center is just a 20-minute cab ride and you will have time to explore the city on your own, or as an optional group outing.

Back at Sagrada, our retreat home, we are housed in various casas on this eco site’s 18 acres of ancient botanical gardens.

You can enjoy walking the paths of Sagrada, or take a brisk walk up the side of the mountain. An optional hike takes you even further up the mountain path to the ancient crystal-strewn volcanic rim, where you can open your hands and hearts — and mouths, if you like! — to release that which you choose to let go of.

Beatrice prepares all our meals from scratch in the kitchen — breakfast, lunch, and dinner (inform me of your dietary needs).

The kitchen is open before breakfast and between meals so you can help yourself with coffee, tea, refreshing fruit waters, and a snack.

We will meet in the mornings and late afternoons for practice and conversation to explore our experience, find clarity and discover our own meaning.

Your afternoons are free to spend as you like, and our group will vote on optional outings.

A short Reiki free-write session follows each morning self-practice, so you’ll leave with a new skill to help you continue deepening on your own.

In the evenings, you can release deeply in the temescal (Aztec sweat lodge), lounge in the hot pool or sit around the fire pit, as you wish.

You can completely cut off from the world, or stay connected through wifi in the main lodge.

Our retreat balances inner and outer, so you’ll re-enter your life refreshed, in wonder, and equipped to stay that way.

You’ll return home with the deep well of support you discover within yourself and in the community we create, a well that can become a lifelong resource.

Truly, what could be better?

I am thrilled to share this with you! And who am I?

I’m Pamela Miles, an international Reiki master and spiritual teacher based in New York City, author of REIKI: A Comprehensive Guide and the foremost Medical Reiki pioneer.

I began practicing meditation and yoga and using traditional healing approaches as an adolescent.

I learned to practice Reiki in 1986, and have have been practicing daily self-Reiki ever since. When I learned Reiki, I was a professional healer and meditation teacher, sharing with clients the practices and knowledge that made such a difference in my life, so I began offering Reiki treatment to my clients.

I began collaborating in conventional medicine in the 1990s, creating Reiki programs in prominent New York City hospitals, including New York Presbyterian-Columbia Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center; teaching at academic medical centers, including Harvard and Yale medical schools and the NIH; collaborating on research; publishing peer-reviewed medical papers; and mentoring Reiki home and professional practitioners.

As a media spokesperson, including NBC, CBS, CNN, FOX, The Dr. Oz Show, U.S. News & World Report, New York Magazine and Allure, I am committed to bringing Reiki practice to a broad mainstream public, and to helping Reiki practitioners develop depth and clarity in their practice and communication.

I will welcome you at Sagrada on Saturday, February 10. Departure is Saturday, February 17, giving you a day to rest day when you get home before your work week.

You are welcome to arrive earlier or stay longer as you wish; make arrangements directly with our site host Shane through Sagrada’s website. Extra nights are available at a special rate $100/night including a light breakfast. Lunch and/or dinner can be arranged in advance for $10 and $15, respectively. All costs are USD.

Our special retreat rate includes:

  • accommodation in charming single or shared adobe casas
  • 3 gourmet meals daily according to your individual needs
  • daily exploration & self-discovery discussion sessions
  • daily group practice sessions (you receive daily table treatment)
  • access to paths through 18 acres of gardens
  • optional hike to the volcanic rim
  • 2 optional evening temescal (Aztec sweat lodge)
  • optional evening hot pool
  • optional evening fire pit
  • free time to visit San Miguel de Allende on your own.

A special (optional) treat in 2015 was the temescal led by Azenet Macedo on the solar eclipse. That might be an option for February 15, 2018 eclipse. Our group will create your own closing ceremony (with or without a sweat lodge).

You can arrange an hour massage for 1000 pesos (about $50 USD) in your free time. The group will decide on optional outings in the area, such as to the healing springs, at additional, very reasonable cost to each person who chooses to participate.

Travel logistics

The two local airports, Leon BJX and Querétaro QRO, are both international. Or fly to Mexico City MEX and connect from there by luxury bus or plane. Interjet and Aeromexico fly MEX to BJX several times a day, and Aeromexico flies twice daily MEX to QRO.

Interjet has been recommended by many, so see if it suits you. Southwest flies to Mexico City.

You can arrange an individual car or take the airport shuttle to Sagrada, or reserve the bus from Mexico City airport to San Miguel in English through BajioGo.

What do I need to pack?

Days are warm, nights are cool, so pack a light jacket, a sweater, and some long pants, and bring your bathing suit for the temescal.

Bring supportive shoes so you can walk comfortably on the packed dirt paths. Sagrada is on the side of a foothill, and there are a number of paths you can walk.

Our sessions are in an open air pavilion. You might want a shawl for the morning.

Bring a notebook or journal and your favorite pen.

Act now to reserve your place!

Are you as excited as I am? We will be a small group, so act now to secure your space. Remember the fee includes food, lodging and all retreat sessions.

We will discuss a couple of optional off-campus ventures, such as an afternoon shopping in San Miguel or a trip to the healing springs. The costs are very reasonable and you will pay for yourself if you choose to participate.

This is an intimate, supportive, loving retreat for a small group. There are limited accommodations and space is strictly first come, first served.

Thank you also for an absolutely fabulous retreat! It renewed my deep enthusiasm for Reiki, and was a powerful reminder that I serve my aspirations best when I take good care of myself. I look forward to spending time with my discussion notes, and am grateful for the wonderful support group we all came away with. Thank you for your DEEP respect and desire to take Reiki practice to so many people! I respect your work immensely!

The heart of practice retreat was a truly empowering, fulfilling experience. Pamela’s generous, gracious leadership in a breathtakingly beautiful setting enabled us to deepen our Reiki practice, expand our understanding of healing, and create a foundation to move forward as Reiki practitioners.
Rashiah Elam

The Reiki retreat in Mexico with Pamela Miles was a unique and special event. The week at Sagrada with Pamela and the Reiki practitioners was a profound experience. The beautiful and peaceful setting promoted meditation and reflection. Due to Pamela’s ability to personalize the discussions I came away with a stronger feeling of peacefulness, love, and knowledge. I am forever grateful to Pamela for her guidance and inspiration.
Lois Bonaccorsi

When I engage with Pamela, I know I’m in the presence of someone who is self-possessed and has my best interests at heart. It is a rare thing to bring these qualities together with a healing practice that transforms not just the body but the inner state as well. Pamela embodies the spirit and promise of Reiki.
Siddharth Ashvin Shah, M.D., M.P.H.

Pamela, thank you for being such a generous teacher…I also thank you for your down-to-earth approach and accessibility.
